Fun in the Sun…and Rain!

A compulsory requirement of GCSE Geography is that students carry out a geographical enquiry for both the physical and human components of the course. This involves learning outside of the classroom and carrying out field work. This year, our Year 11s have been treated to a day out at the seaside town of Hunstanton, Norfolk. A variety of data collection methods have been used to help students assess whether the coastal management strategies at Hunstanton are effective and whether the town is sustainable all year round. The field work extends their knowledge and understanding of the content taught in lessons about coastal landscapes and urban futures.
